SAN airport flat $65 (central SD) · $40 downtown hotel ↔ Convention Center · 100% electric, no surge · (858) 522-0264
TL;DR
Sunday, July 26, 2026 is Comic-Con's closing day — traditionally Kids Day, a family-friendly program at the San Diego Convention Center, 111 Harbor Drive that ends earlier and lighter than Saturday's peak. The trip that matters is the fly-out: SAN airport transfer, flat $65 from central San Diego, flight-tracked, no surge or departure markup. Morning family runs to the hall are $40 flat downtown. Fleet: BMW i7 (2), Rivian R1S (up to 4), Escalade IQ-L (up to 5 + strollers/gear). Book the SAN drop early — Sunday afternoon is a concentrated departure rush. Call (858) 522-0264.
Closing day — lighter program, heavier departures
Sunday is the Con's wind-down. It is traditionally Kids Day, with a family-friendly slate and a calmer, earlier-ending feel than Saturday's Hall H peak — the crowds thin steadily through the afternoon as attendees check out of hotels and head for home. The morning still fills the exhibit hall one last time; the afternoon empties the whole show onto the road to the airport in the same few hours.
Convention-week road fact (official): Harbor Drive is closed to regular vehicle traffic between First Avenue and Park Boulevard — Sunday July 26, 7:00 AM–8:00 PM — per Comic-Con International's Harbor Drive advisory. Only Ace garage-pass holders, ADA, and emergency vehicles are exempt, so the curb directly in front of the Convention Center is unreachable by car until the evening. EGT plans around it: your named driver stages at the First Avenue / Gaslamp perimeter or the Park Boulevard side and confirms the exact open curb by text — including on the afternoon hotel-to-SAN departure runs.
That makes Sunday two different rides. In the morning, families with kids, strollers, and a weekend's worth of exhibit-hall hauls want a comfortable run to the Convention Center — the $40 flat downtown hop, one vehicle, no meter. In the afternoon, everyone is racing the same fly-out window: a flat SAN airport transfer at $65 from central San Diego, flight-tracked, with the pickup time built backward from your departure so a busy downtown-to-SAN road doesn't cost you the gate.
Comic-Con's out-of-town crowd has no default San Diego car service — they discover EGT the week of the show and need exactly this: a named driver who knows the Sunday departure timing and locks the rate before the rush. That is the whole closing-day play.
Event dates per the official Comic-Con International calendar; venue location per the San Diego Convention Center listing. Checked ; Harbor Drive closure windows re-verified .
Flat published rates — no surge, no departure markup
EGT's closing-day pricing is the same published flat rate we run all year. The airport transfer and the local downtown ride are fixed at booking — the Sunday fly-out rush does not move the number:
| Trip | Vehicle | Flat rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Central San Diego (Downtown / Gaslamp / Marina) → SAN airport | BMW i7 (2) | $65 | Flight-tracked, pickup built backward from your flight |
| Central San Diego → SAN airport | Rivian R1S (up to 4) | from $65 | Rate varies by neighborhood — call to confirm |
| Central San Diego → SAN airport | Escalade IQ-L (up to 5 + gear) | from $65 | Best per-seat value — room for strollers & hauls |
| Downtown hotel ↔ Convention Center (local) | Any vehicle | $40 | One pickup, one drop-off |
Consistency over extraction: EGT does not surge a departure rush. The SAN transfer is the published $65 from central San Diego and the local downtown hop is the published $40 — the same on closing Sunday as any day. What changes on Sunday is timing pressure, not price.
Per-seat math — the family fly-out
Sunday is a family and group day, and the fare is flat per vehicle — so a full car is the cheapest and calmest way out:
- Escalade IQ-L, 5 riders + strollers & hauls: the $65 SAN airport run is about $13 a seat — with room for a weekend of exhibit-hall gear a rideshare sedan won't take.
- Downtown local $40 in the IQ-L for 5: about $8 a seat for the morning hop to the hall.
- Rivian R1S, 4 riders: $65 to SAN is about $16 a seat, generous cargo.
No surge multiplier during the fly-out rush, no per-bag charge, one named driver who times the drop to your flight.
Two round trips per vehicle — morning hall, afternoon fly-out
Each EGT vehicle runs two round trips per event window — on Sunday that is usually a morning run to the Convention Center for the last day on the floor and an afternoon SAN airport drop as the show closes. The afternoon departure slots go first because everyone flies out in the same window. Slots per vehicle are limited and confirmed in the order requests arrive. It is live availability, not a hard ceiling — but the closer to Sunday, the fewer remain. When they fill, the way back in is the timestamped cancellation list — 30 seconds to join, called strictly in order. As of , the i7 and Rivian are booked for Sunday; the Escalade IQ-L is the last vehicle. Book the fly-out early.
Flew in for the weekend? Close it out with one operator
If EGT brought you in on Preview Night or Thursday, closing day is the return leg of the same plan: your SAN airport drop timed to the flight, same named driver, same flat rate. Basing a family here for the weekend? EGT can hold the morning hall run and the afternoon airport drop on one vehicle. Out of town and planning by phone? Call or text (858) 522-0264 and an owner walks you through Sunday departure timing before you book.

Sunday fly-out books first — lock your SAN drop
The whole show departs in the same afternoon window, so EGT's Sunday airport slots go earliest. Reserve your flight-tracked SAN drop now — flat $65 from central San Diego, no surge, no departure markup, named driver who times the pickup to your flight. Morning hall runs are the published $40 downtown. When the Sunday slots are full, EGT opens a cancellation list in request order.
