Black Falcon vs Elite Green Transportation

Direct answer: These two serve different parties. Black Falcon Transportation runs large gas SUVs — up to 7 passengers, or 14 in its two-vehicle Duo — from a base near SAN, and states that rates away from the airport axis are subject to change after review. Elite Green Transportation is the San Diego–based licensed operator — TCP #0046494-A, $1.5M commercial liability, founded September 2024 by an active law-enforcement professional, woman- and Native American–owned (Choctaw Nation), 100% electric three-vehicle fleet (BMW i7 xDrive60, Rivian R1S, Cadillac Escalade IQ-L), published flat rates that never surge and never re-quote, and a named driver confirmed in advance. EGT tops out at five passengers. Owner-answered booking: (858) 522-0264.

If your party is six or more, Black Falcon can carry you and EGT cannot — book them. If your party fits in five, the question is whether you want a large gas SUV at a conditional rate or a premium electric vehicle at a rate that cannot move.

Quick summary

Black Falcon Transportation is a San Diego black-car operator whose published focus is airport transfers, with prominent marketing aimed at Temecula, Murrieta and Menifee residents in Riverside County. Its booking widget lists two products: the Black Falcon SUV, a large SUV seating up to 7, and the Black Falcon Duo, two SUVs for groups up to 14. Its strength is straightforward and real: capacity. A party of six, eight or twelve with luggage has somewhere to sit, and the widget states the price includes all fees and a 15% gratuity.

Elite Green Transportation (EGT) is San Diego's only 100% electric licensed car service for SAN airport. Every ride is a BMW i7 xDrive60, a Rivian R1S or a Cadillac Escalade IQ-L — zero tailpipe emissions by default. EGT operates under California TCP #0046494-A with $1.5M commercial liability, prices airport transfers and events as a flat rate locked at booking with no surge and no post-booking review, confirms a named driver in advance with no substitutions, and is Native American-owned (Choctaw Nation) and woman-owned, owner-answered. EGT runs a deliberately focused three-vehicle premium fleet rather than a broad one, and that focus is a real trade-off, not a marketing line.

The honest concession, stated first. For six or more passengers, Black Falcon is the better option and EGT is not an option at all. Our largest vehicle, the Cadillac Escalade IQ-L, seats five. We would rather tell you that here than take your call and turn you away. If you are a group of six to fourteen, Black Falcon or another large-capacity operator is the right call.

The rate that holds anywhere

This is the substantive difference, and it comes from Black Falcon's own booking widget rather than from us. Quoted as published and checked August 16, 2026:

“For requests NOT going to/from SAN Airport (as we are based near SAN), the rate is subject to change after review due to deadhead or empty miles; you'll be informed and allowed to confirm if you'd like to proceed.”blackfalcontransportation.com booking widget

That is a fair and transparent disclosure, and we credit them for publishing it plainly. It is also a meaningful difference in what you are buying. A quote that is “subject to change after review” is an estimate until someone reviews it. If your trip is a Del Mar race day, a Petco Park concert, a Carlsbad hotel run, a Safari Park family day or a North County pickup — anything not touching SAN — the number you see may not be the number you pay.

EGT's flat rate does not work that way. A rate quoted for La Jolla, Carlsbad, Chula Vista, Escondido or Coronado is the rate, whether or not the trip touches an airport, and whether or not we drive back empty. Deadhead is our cost to model, not yours to absorb after the fact. That is what “flat rate” is supposed to mean.

Read the bookable quote, not the headline

Advertised rates and bookable rates are different numbers across most of this industry, ours included — which is why we publish ours and invite the comparison. On Black Falcon's site, marketing copy states rates start at $344.95. Opening the booking widget on August 16, 2026 returned $379.99 for the Black Falcon SUV, described as a large SUV seating up to 7 passengers with the price stated to include all fees and 15% gratuity, and $699.99 for the Black Falcon Duo, two SUVs seating up to 14. Those are their figures, on their site, on that date.

EGT's San Diego to LAX rate is $425 from any San Diego County origin, in any vehicle in the fleet — the BMW i7 xDrive60 (up to 2), the Rivian R1S (up to 4) or the Cadillac Escalade IQ-L (up to 5), all three on the LAX run — gratuity, tolls and flight tracking included. There is no sedan tier that becomes an SUV tier at checkout, no promotional rate with an expiry, and no vehicle class that costs more.

On a straight number, a 7-passenger SUV at $379.99 is less than $425. It is also a different product: a large gas SUV rather than a BMW i7 or an Escalade IQ-L, and it is priced for a party that we could not seat. If you are two people going to LAX, you are not choosing between $379.99 and $425 for the same ride — you are choosing what you want to sit in for two and a half hours.
