Where the turf meets the surf — and where I-5 meets Via de la Valle. First post 2:00 PM. Your driver handles the interchange; you handle the hat.
Flat round trip from anywhere in metro San Diego: $120 BMW i7 · $200 Escalade IQ-L — no time cap · (858) 522-0264
The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club's 2026 summer season opens Friday, July 17 and runs through Labor Day, September 7 — racing Thursdays through Sundays plus Labor Day, first post 2:00 PM PT (1:30 PM closing weekend), with the $1,000,000 Pacific Classic on Saturday, August 22. EGT runs flat round trips between anywhere in metro San Diego and the track: $120 BMW i7 (two passengers) or $200 Escalade IQ-L (up to five, $40 per seat) — gate drop-off, driver staged through the card, no hourly clock. Every race day, all season. Call (858) 522-0264.
Opening Day is the biggest single day of the Del Mar meet — the hats, the infield, the opening-day card — and it lands on a summer Friday. The racetrack sits at the seam of I-5 and Via de la Valle, about 20 miles north of downtown San Diego, which means race traffic, beach traffic, and Friday-afternoon commuter traffic all merge into the same two exits ahead of the 2:00 PM first post.
Driving yourself means joining the lot queue on the way in and the post-race crawl back to the freeway on the way out. A pre-booked private car turns both into someone else's problem: curb drop at the admission gates, driver staged nearby through the card, and a vehicle that rolls when you walk out — after the last race or three races early, your call.

Skipping the first race? Mid-card arrivals (3:00–4:00 PM) clear most of the inbound wave — and your flat rate doesn't change either way.
The published private-vehicle market for Del Mar race days is the stretch-limo/party segment: packages advertised from $450–$480 for up to 8 passengers, capped at a 4-hour window, with weekday availability restrictions and tip and fuel not included (Source: Royalty Limousine San Diego — Del Mar package page). Note the math: first post is 2:00 PM and a full card runs into the evening — a 4-hour clock either misses the late races or bills overtime.
EGT's alternative: $200 flat round trip in the Cadillac Escalade IQ-L — up to five passengers, $40 per seat, no clock, driver staged through the entire card — or $120 in the BMW i7 for two. Both vehicles are all-electric, chauffeured, and covered by EGT's TCP #0046494-A charter-party authority. That makes EGT, as of this writing, the only published flat any-race-day rate to Del Mar in the San Diego market.
