When SIXT ride is the right choice
- You travel across many cities. One app and one account for driver service across hundreds of markets worldwide is a real advantage for frequent travelers.
- You want to bundle with a rental car. If you already book SIXT rental vehicles, keeping driver trips in the same account and receipts flow is convenient.

What SIXT GREEN actually is
SIXT GREEN is not a company or a fleet — it is a booking class inside SIXT ride, the driver arm of the SIXT group (separate from SIXT rent a car). On SIXT's own San Diego page the classes are grouped as Standard (Ride, Ride XL), Green (GREEN, GREEN XL, Business GREEN, Business GREEN XL) and Premium (Business, Business XL, First).
SIXT describes the class this way: it features "environmentally-friendly transportation options like electric or hybrid vehicles." That sentence is the whole distinction. The vehicles are not SIXT's either. SIXT ride recruits independent transportation service providers to fulfil bookings — its own site invites operators to "Drive for us" and become a partner — so, as with other booking platforms, the car belongs to a local company and that company employs the driver. EGT has no green tier because it has no non-green tier. The BMW i7 eDrive50, Rivian R1S and Cadillac Escalade IQ-L are the entire fleet, all battery-electric, all operated under one California TCP licence (#0046494-A) by the company that answers the phone. There is no class to select and no chance of being matched to a hybrid.
When EGT is the right choice
- You want a guaranteed all-electric ride. EGT is 100% electric every time; SIXT ride's partner vehicles are typically internal-combustion and the car is not confirmed as electric.
- Local accountability. A San Diego owner answers the phone and the named driver is confirmed in advance — not assigned by a platform on the day.
- Flat, no-surge pricing. EGT's rate is locked at booking with no demand multiplier or class up-sell.
- Local event expertise. NASCAR Coronado, Del Mar, Petco Park, Comic-Con, and SoFi World Cup runs from San Diego — planned by an operator who knows the routes.
