The 2026 parking reality — and the smarter day
- Paid parking arrived January 5, 2026: non-resident lots run $10–$16/day, meters $2.50/hour, and enforcement is active. The free-parking-era advice all over old blog posts is dead.
- The close lots fill by late morning on weekends — the fallback lots put you a tram ride from the Prado. An EGT drop at the Plaza de Panama puts you at the museum doors.
- Pair it: the Zoo is inside the same park — morning Zoo, afternoon museums, one round trip. The 2-Visit Pass and an Explorer museum pass make a two-day culture stack.
- Evenings: the park’s December Nights and summer twilight concerts end after dark — a booked pickup beats hunting an app car on Park Boulevard.
