Concert nights are the worst egress of the whole Fair: the grandstand empties into the 30 minutes after the encore, and that wave hits the I-5 / Via de la Valle interchange right as summer beach traffic peaks — the lots and the park-and-ride bus line back up at exactly the moment you want to leave, and rideshare surges hardest. Your grandstand ticket includes the full Fair day, so the EGT pattern is: gate drop whenever you want to start, pre-booked pickup set against the encore, adjust by text if you stay for the midway.
