Procedure ride — flat round trip from $120, escort rides free, no wait charge

Direct answer: Elite Green Transportation runs licensed flat-rate procedure transport across Hillcrest and central San Diego (Zone 1). Round trip $120, escort rides free, no waiting charge, pre-dawn pickups routine. We carry ambulatory passengers and their escort; we are not a medical transport service and we are not your responsible adult. (858) 522-0264.
TL;DR: Hillcrest and central San Diego facilities require a ride and an escort, and most will not release you to a rideshare. We run the two legs at a flat rate with your escort included.

The facilities and what they publish

Hillcrest is our shortest and cheapest lane for this service and it holds some of the county’s firmest discharge language.

“Please arrange in advance for a responsible adult to drive you home and remain with you the first 24 hours after surgery. You will not be allowed to have your procedure without prearranging this responsibility. You cannot drive yourself or be left alone.”— Scripps Mercy Surgery Pavilion Outpatient Center, published on their own site
“Driver: You must plan to have someone drive you home. Do not plan to use taxis or other public transportation.”— San Diego Endoscopy Center, 4033 Third Avenue, published on their own site

Also Zone 1: Scripps Prebys Cancer Center (4044 5th Avenue, infusion published Monday to Saturday 8 am – 5 pm), Sharp San Diego Surgery Center and San Diego Outpatient Surgical Center in Kearny Mesa, the Kevin H. Cook Infusion Center in Serra Mesa, and Euclid Endoscopy Center in Encanto.

The rate is per vehicle, not per person — your escort rides at no additional charge. The round trip is two scheduled legs: we take you in, and we come back for you when the unit calls. There is no hourly meter and no waiting charge.

The rate includes gratuity, tolls and waiting time. There is no tip line, no surge, no early-morning surcharge, no extra-passenger fee and no percentage service charge. The figure you are quoted before the procedure is the figure you pay after it.

Frequently asked

Can my driver be my responsible adult?

No. 42 CFR 416.52 requires the facility to discharge you in the company of a responsible adult, and a paid driver does not satisfy that. We drive you and your escort; we never claim to be the escort.

Does my escort cost extra?

No. The rate is per vehicle. Your escort rides free, both ways.

Do you charge for waiting?

No. Two scheduled legs, no hourly meter.

What if I need a wheelchair or gurney?

Then we are the wrong service and we will say so. Those are separately licensed categories in California.
