TL;DR
Friday June 19, 2026 opens NASCAR San Diego Weekend at Naval Base Coronado with the Craftsman Truck Series — but Friday is Navy Community Day, not open to the general public (Navy personnel and limited Coronado residents only). If you have Friday access, race weekend is waitlist-only and ferry shuttle only: EGT drops you at the downtown San Diego ferry landing (Broadway Pier) for a flat $50 one-way, any vehicle, and meets you back at that same San Diego spot for the return pickup ($100 round trip). You ride the ferry across to Coronado and back yourself — EGT does not cross to the island, drive onto the base, or pick up on the Coronado side. The fleet is committed, so it's waitlist-only. General public: the racing you can attend is Saturday Jun 20 and Sunday Jun 21 — join the waitlist on the weekend hub. Call (858) 522-0264.
Getting onto a working Navy base is the whole problem
This is not a stadium with a parking lot. The course runs inside the security perimeter of Naval Air Station North Island — expect controlled access, security screening, and traffic management across Coronado all weekend. The Coronado Bridge is the main chokepoint, and event traffic stacks on top of normal summer beach traffic. NASCAR has indicated off-base park-and-ride arrangements and recommends arriving early for security delays.
That's why we route riders to the bay ferry. EGT drives you from anywhere in metro San Diego to the downtown San Diego ferry landing (Broadway Pier), drops you on the San Diego side, and meets you back at that same spot for the return pickup. You ride the ferry across San Diego Bay and back yourself — reaching Coronado without ever touching the bridge, the single worst chokepoint on race weekend. EGT operates on the San Diego side only — we do not cross to the island, drive onto the base, or pick up on the Coronado side. It's a flat $50 one-way, any vehicle ($100 round trip = both San Diego-side legs). See the full ferry route, times, and live availability →
Friday access — Navy Community Day
Friday is a limited-access Navy Community Day, not the full public crowd. If you're among the Navy personnel or Coronado residents with Friday access, EGT still gets you in and out cleanly via the bay ferry — we drop you at the downtown San Diego ferry landing, you ride the ferry across yourself, and we meet you back at that same San Diego spot on the return. EGT works the San Diego side only and does not cross to the island or pick up on the Coronado side. Everyone else: the public race days are Saturday Jun 20 and Sunday Jun 21.
Event facts per NASCARSanDiego.com (official) and the NASCAR course reveal. Checked . Official parking and transit guidance is still being released — check NASCARSanDiego.com before race day; EGT tracks closures as they publish.
Race weekend is waitlist-only — ferry shuttle, San Diego side only
