How to Get to the NASCAR Coronado Race Without the Bridge

One island, one bridge, 50,000 fans. There's a smarter way onto Naval Base Coronado — take the bay.

Flat round trip from metro San Diego: $150 BMW i7 ($75/seat) · $250 Escalade IQ-L ($50/seat) — no surge, ever.

TL;DR

The NASCAR San Diego Weekend (June 19–21, 2026) is on an island reached by one bridge. On race day that bridge is the bottleneck the whole crowd shares. The fix: EGT drives you to the downtown ferry landing, you take the San Diego Bay ferry across to Coronado, and you skip the bridge entirely. Or go direct over the bridge with your driver handling it — same flat rate, your choice. $150 BMW i7 / $250 Escalade IQ-L, no surge. Reserve below or call (858) 522-0264.

Why the bridge is the problem

Naval Base Coronado sits on a peninsula with effectively one way in by car: the Coronado Bridge. The race runs inside an active naval base, so access is controlled and security screened, and every fan, vendor, and rideshare funnels across the same span. Post-race, when tens of thousands leave at once, that bridgehead backs up for an hour or more — and that's exactly when rideshare surge pricing spikes. Driving yourself means sitting in it; calling a rideshare means paying a premium to sit in it.

The bridge-free route, step by step

  1. EGT picks you up anywhere in metro San Diego at your door.
  2. We drop you at the downtown ferry landing (Broadway Pier) — an easy, traffic-light run that never touches the bridge.
  3. You ride the San Diego Bay ferry across to the Coronado Ferry Landing — a short, scenic crossing that bypasses the entire bridge bottleneck.
  4. On the island, it's a quick hop to the course; EGT can run the Coronado-side leg toward the gates if you'd like.
  5. Return the same way — while everyone else is parked on the bridge after the checkered flag.

Confirm race-weekend ferry sailing times with the ferry operator; EGT times your pickup to the boat. Base access and on-island guidance per NASCARSanDiego.com.

Two ways to ride — same flat rate

Option A — Direct over the bridge

Your chauffeur takes the bridge and drops you as close as event security allows, then stages off-island for the exit. Simplest door-to-course.

Option B — Skip the bridge by ferry

EGT to the downtown ferry landing, bay ferry across, you're on the island bridge-free. Best on the busiest day.

Book a round trip to the race, or a round trip to the ferry — either way you're not the one stuck on the bridge. Both are flat: $150 BMW i7 / $250 Escalade IQ-L, no surge.
