TL;DR

San Diego Symphony Opening Weekend — Strauss A Hero's Life, Payare conducting, Yefim Bronfman on piano — at Copley Symphony Hall (Jacobs Music Center, 1245 Seventh Ave, downtown), Saturday October 3 at 7:30 PM and Sunday October 4 at 2:00 PM. It's the dress-up night of the year and a busy downtown evening. EGT drops you at the B Street door and returns at the concert's predictable end — flat $120 BMW i7 (2), $160 Rivian R1S (up to 4), $200 Escalade IQ-L (up to 5), no surge, quiet electric ride. Book early — opening night fills. Call (858) 522-0264.

Opening night — worth doing right

The season opener is the Symphony's flagship: a full house, formalwear, and Payare leading a Strauss showpiece with a marquee soloist. It's also a peak downtown evening, so the garage-and-walk routine is at its least appealing. EGT's version: a quiet electric car to the B Street entrance at Symphony Towers (where valet also runs on Saturday evenings), then a driver back at the curb at the end — a 7:30 PM concert reliably wraps around 9:30–10:00 PM, so the pickup window is clean.

Coming for the Sunday 2:00 PM matinee instead? The calmer curb is on A Street, north side of the block. Either way you skip the structure and the meter.

Program, date, and times per the San Diego Symphony 2026–27 season; entrances/valet per the Jacobs Music Center FAQ. Checked .
