The direct answer
For the San Diego Symphony or a concert at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park on the downtown Embarcadero, a flat-rate private car drops you at the entrance and stages a driver for the ride home - no downtown parking hunt, no surge, and no driving after a drink by the bay. Elite Green Transportation runs published Tier-3 flat round trips from anywhere in metro San Diego: non-marquee nights are $100 BMW i7 (2), $120 Rivian R1S (up to 4), or $140 Escalade IQ-L (up to 5); marquee nights and big-name headliners are $130 / $160 / $190. 100% electric, named driver confirmed in advance.
Tier-3 flat rates — published, no surge
One flat price covers the whole night, both legs, for everyone in the car — no hourly clock, no surge, no prepaid parking. Regular shows are non-marquee; opening nights and big-name headliners are marquee (each event page shows which rate applies).
| Vehicle | Seats | Non-marquee round trip | Marquee round trip |
|---|---|---|---|
| BMW i7 | 2 | $100 ($50/seat) | $130 ($65/seat) |
| Rivian R1S | up to 4 | $120 ($30/seat) | $160 ($40/seat) |
| Cadillac Escalade IQ-L | up to 5 | $140 ($28/seat) | $190 ($38/seat) |
How the slots work: Each vehicle runs one round trip per event — drop at the gate, then a staged pickup about 30–45 minutes after it ends. One party per vehicle; when it's booked, the vehicle is booked for the night. Slots are confirmed in the order requests arrive; book early. When slots are full, EGT opens a cancellation list.

Getting to The Rady Shell — every option, honestly
The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park sits at 222 Marina Park Way on the downtown Embarcadero, behind the Convention Center. Per the venue (theshell.org), these are your ways in:
| Option | How it works | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| MTS Trolley | Green Line to Convention Center station, then a short walk to the gates. | Cheapest way in — genuinely a good option if you're staying downtown. Last trolleys can be tight after long shows. |
| Venue shuttle | The venue runs a shuttle before and after every concert to/from the Hilton Bayfront parking structure, including an accessible lift-equipped shuttle (per theshell.org). | You still have to park at the Hilton structure first and queue both ways. |
| Drive + park | The venue recommends buying parking in advance at the Fifth Avenue Landing Lot or the Hilton Bayfront garage. | Event-night parking sells out and stacks a parking fee on top of the drive; the exit queue after the encore is the slowest part of the night. |
| Rideshare | Drop near the Convention Center side. | Surge pricing peaks exactly when the show ends and the whole lawn requests a car at once. |
| EGT private car | Flat round trip, booked ahead. Our standard drop is Convention Center Drive across from Fifth Avenue Landing — a level two-minute walk to the Shell's gates — and your named driver stages nearby for the walk-out. (That drop point is EGT operating practice, not a venue instruction.) | Limited slots per night — each vehicle runs one early and one late round trip. |
Trolley, shuttle and parking details per theshell.org directions & parking — confirm on the official source before you travel.
Why book EGT for The Rady Shell
- No parking hunt: EGT drops you at the entrance and is staged for the walk-out — no lot, no garage spiral, no peninsula squeeze.
- No surge: rideshare spikes the moment the venue empties; EGT's published rate is the same for every rider, every night.
- Sober ride home: enjoy a drink or a glass of wine — your named driver handles the round trip.
- Skip the post-show egress: your driver rolls when you text, not after a 30-minute lot or rideshare wait.
- Group value: for five riders the Escalade IQ-L is just $28-$40 per seat round trip, door to door.
- 100% electric, named driver: a clean, quiet BMW i7, Rivian R1S, or Cadillac Escalade IQ-L, with the same confirmed driver both ways.
