TL;DR

Sunday June 21, 2026: the NASCAR Cup Series Anduril 250 — Race the Base, 75 laps on the Qualcomm Circuit at Naval Base Coronado. The marquee day of the first-ever NASCAR weekend on an active military base — and the heaviest bridge traffic of the weekend. Race weekend is waitlist-only and ferry shuttle only: EGT drops you at the downtown San Diego ferry landing (Broadway Pier) for a flat $50 one-way, any vehicle, and meets you back at that same San Diego spot for the return pickup ($100 round trip). You ride the ferry across to Coronado and back yourself — EGT does not cross to the island, drive onto the base, or pick up on the Coronado side. Sunday runs one car only and the fleet is committed, so it's waitlist-only. Heads-up: it's also Belgium vs Iran at SoFi the same day. Call (858) 522-0264.

Getting onto a working Navy base is the whole problem

This is not a stadium with a parking lot. The course runs inside the security perimeter of Naval Air Station North Island — expect controlled access, security screening, and traffic management across Coronado all weekend. The Coronado Bridge is the main chokepoint, and event traffic stacks on top of normal summer beach traffic. NASCAR has indicated off-base park-and-ride arrangements and recommends arriving early for security delays.

That's why we route every race-day rider to the bay ferry. EGT drives you from anywhere in metro San Diego to the downtown San Diego ferry landing (Broadway Pier), drops you on the San Diego side, and meets you back at that same spot for the return pickup. You ride the ferry across San Diego Bay and back yourself — reaching Coronado without ever touching the bridge, the single worst chokepoint on race weekend. EGT operates on the San Diego side only — we do not cross to the island, drive onto the base, or pick up on the Coronado side. It's a flat $50 one-way, any vehicle ($100 round trip = both San Diego-side legs). See the full ferry route, times, and live availability →

Cup Sunday is the stress test

All of NASCAR's top Cup drivers, a sold-out island, one bridge. The post-race egress is the moment the ferry route pays for itself — your driver is staged on the San Diego side off the chokepoint and the rate is flat, while the apps surge against 50,000 people leaving a two-lane-each-way bridgehead. You ride the ferry back across and EGT meets you at Broadway Pier — no bridge, either direction.

Same-day conflict intelligence: June 21 is also Belgium vs Iran at SoFi Stadium — a World Cup group-stage match 100+ miles north. A World Cup booking to SoFi that Sunday takes the fleet north for the full day, and Coronado race-day availability closes with it. Race weekend is waitlist-only because the fleet is committed — add your name and we call the moment a seat opens.

Event facts per NASCARSanDiego.com (official), the NASCAR course reveal, and the City of Coronado public information page. Checked . Official parking and transit guidance is still being released — check NASCARSanDiego.com before race day; EGT tracks closures as they publish.
