Elite Green Transportation Privacy Policy
Elite Green Transportation ("EGT," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you book or use our licensed luxury electric car service in San Diego County, how we use that information, who we share it with, and the rights California residents have over their personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
This policy applies to information collected through (i) our public website at elitegreentransportation.com, (ii) our member and driver applications hosted at fleet.elitegreentransportation.com and related subdomains, (iii) phone calls and SMS messages exchanged with our dispatch and service teams, and (iv) bookings made directly through human dispatch.
What's in this policy
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create a member account, book a ride, or are onboarded as a driver, we collect: your full name, email address, mobile phone number, password (hashed; we cannot read it), and emergency contact information you choose to provide. For drivers, we additionally collect government-issued ID, TCP-required licensure documentation, vehicle registration, insurance documentation, and background-check authorization.
Booking and ride information
For each ride we collect: pickup address, drop-off address, requested vehicle, scheduled date and time, passenger count, special instructions or notes you provide (luggage, child travel, accessibility), and the assigned driver. We retain ride history for member accounts to support loyalty program calculations and dispute resolution.
Payment information
EGT does not store full credit-card numbers, bank account numbers, or comparable financial credentials. Payment is processed by third-party payment processors — currently PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay — under their respective privacy policies. EGT receives only a transaction confirmation, an obfuscated payment-method identifier, and the gross and net amounts. For physical-service rides exempt from app-store billing requirements, payment may be handled directly by the dispatcher with the customer.
Location data
Two distinct location streams are collected, each with a different purpose and retention:
- Vehicle telematics (Bouncie): EGT-owned vehicles are equipped with Bouncie GPS telematics for fleet management, route auditing, dispute resolution, and insurance compliance. Vehicle location is collected continuously while the ignition is on. Vehicle telematics are tied to the vehicle, not to an individual passenger.
- Driver mobile phone GPS during active rides: While a ride is active, the driver's mobile phone shares its GPS location with the dispatch system to compute ETA, support customer-facing ride status, and resolve "where is my driver" questions. Driver GPS sharing pauses between rides; drivers can pause at will outside an active assignment.
SMS interaction logs
When you exchange SMS messages with EGT (via our Twilio-powered messaging service), we retain a log of: your phone number, the date and time of each message, the message direction (inbound or outbound), the message body, and delivery / failure status returned by the carrier.
Cookies, session state, and device data
Our public marketing site uses minimal cookies for analytics (Google Tag Manager / Google Ads conversion attribution) and session management. Member and driver applications use authentication cookies to maintain logged-in sessions. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies for behavioral advertising. We collect basic device data — browser type, operating system, IP address — for security monitoring and fraud prevention.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the service: dispatch a vehicle and driver to your pickup, navigate to your drop-off, and confirm completion.
- Compute ETAs and ride status: use vehicle and driver location to predict arrival and notify you of changes.
- Process payment: route the transaction to your selected processor and reconcile against the fare.
- Send SMS notifications: booking confirmations, driver-en-route alerts, arrival notifications, post-ride receipts, and customer-service responses.
- Operate the EGT 1K Loyalty Program: track cumulative spend, calculate earned credits, and apply benefits to your account.
- Service improvement: review aggregate ride data, dispatch latency, and customer feedback to improve operations.
- Safety and compliance: respond to incidents, cooperate with law enforcement requests valid under California law, and meet TCP licensure obligations.
- Fraud prevention and account security: detect unusual activity, prevent unauthorized account access, and protect drivers and customers.
3. Who We Share Information With
Drivers
Each ride's assigned driver receives only the information necessary to perform the trip: passenger name, pickup and drop-off addresses, contact phone number, scheduled time, vehicle assigned, and any special instructions you noted. Drivers do not see your payment method, ride history, or other account details.
Service providers
We share specific categories of information with vendors who provide infrastructure, communication, or operational services to EGT, under contracts that limit their use of the information to performing the requested service:
| Provider | Purpose | Information shared |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Member and driver application database; authentication | Account information, ride history, loyalty balances |
| Netlify | Public website hosting and edge delivery | Page request logs (IP, user-agent, URL, timestamp) |
| Resend | Transactional email delivery | Email address, message content (e.g., booking confirmations) |
| Sentry | Application error monitoring | Stack traces, browser metadata; PII is filtered before transmission |
| PayPal / Apple Pay / Google Pay | Payment processing | Transaction amount and confirmation; full card data is processed by them, not stored by EGT |
| Twilio | SMS message delivery | Phone number, message body, delivery status |
| Google Maps / Workspace / Calendar | Routing, ETA computation, dispatch scheduling, business operations | Pickup and drop-off addresses, scheduling metadata |
| Bouncie | Vehicle GPS telematics on EGT-owned vehicles | Vehicle location, speed, diagnostic codes — tied to the vehicle, not the passenger |
Legal compliance
We may share information when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the safety of riders, drivers, or the public. We will challenge requests we believe are overbroad or unlawful.
4. SMS / Text Message Disclosures (TCPA & 10DLC)
SMS service provider: Twilio Inc. EGT uses Twilio's 10DLC carrier-registered messaging service to send and receive text messages.
Opt-in: Members opt in to SMS during account creation, which discloses message frequency and rates. Drivers opt in during 1099 contractor onboarding. Both consents are logged and retrievable.
Message frequency
Frequency varies by booking activity. A typical single round-trip booking generates 3 to 8 messages (booking confirmation, dispatch acknowledgment, driver-en-route, arrival, post-ride summary, optional follow-up). Customers with multiple active bookings or who actively message dispatch will see proportionally more.
Opt-out
Reply STOP to any EGT SMS to opt out of all non-emergency messaging. We will send a single confirmation that you have been unsubscribed. Reply HELP to receive support contact information.
Carrier rates
Carrier message and data rates may apply. EGT does not charge for messaging; your wireless carrier may.
What we do not do over SMS
EGT does not send marketing or promotional text messages without explicit prior consent. We do not share your phone number with third parties for their marketing. We do not auto-dial.
5. Data Retention
- Booking history: retained for 7 years after the ride date, to comply with California tax record-keeping requirements and to support dispute resolution.
- SMS interaction logs: 18 months after the last message in a conversation. Logs tied to a billing dispute or safety incident may be retained longer for the duration of the matter.
- Vehicle telematics (Bouncie) and driver-phone GPS: 90 days, unless retained for an open dispute, accident investigation, or insurance claim, in which case retention extends until the matter closes.
- Account information: retained for the life of the account plus 30 days after closure; longer if required by law or for an unresolved matter.
- Payment records: retained per the payment processor's policy (PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay); EGT keeps only the transaction confirmation for 7 years per California tax requirements.
6. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act:
- Right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the categories of third parties we share it with, and the business purposes for collection.
- Right to delete personal information we have collected about you, subject to exceptions for legal compliance, completing transactions you requested, and security.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to opt out of sale and the right to opt out of sharing your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. EGT does not sell or share for advertising — see Section 7.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information beyond what is reasonably necessary to provide our service.
- Right of non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights. We will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a lower service quality because you exercised your rights.
To exercise these rights, submit a request at elitegreentransportation.com/privacy/data-request or email support@elitegreentransportation.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity using information already on file (your account email plus a second confirmable detail) and respond within 45 days, with a one-time 45-day extension permitted by law if needed.
7. We Do Not Sell or Share Personal Information for Advertising
Elite Green Transportation does not sell your personal information, and does not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined in CCPA/CPRA. We do not run third-party retargeting pixels, advertising-network audience exports, or cross-site identity-graph integrations on our member or driver applications. Our public marketing site uses Google Ads conversion measurement (a first-party measurement product), which is governed by Google's published policies; this is the only third-party marketing technology in use as of the effective date.
8. Security
EGT implements administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect your information:
- Data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
- Account databases are encrypted at rest by our hosting provider.
- Staff access to systems containing personal information requires multi-factor authentication.
- Role-based access controls limit which staff can view which categories of information.
- We maintain logging and monitoring to detect unusual access patterns.
No security program is perfect. If we discover a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with California Civil Code § 1798.82.
9. Children
EGT's services are not directed to or available for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, please contact us at support@elitegreentransportation.com and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our services evolve, or to reflect changes in law. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates the date of the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by email to active members and drivers, and a notice will be posted on this page for at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
