TL;DR
The 2027 Rose Bowl Game — one of the four College Football Playoff quarterfinals — at the Rose Bowl, Pasadena, on Friday, January 1, 2027, on ESPN. Kickoff will be 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM or 5:00 PM PST; the Tournament of Roses says 1:00 PM is most likely, confirmed when the bracket is set on December 6. EGT’s Rose Bowl Game round trip is $500 BMW i7 (2, $250 a seat), $600 Rivian R1S (up to 4, $150 a seat) or $700 Escalade IQ-L (up to 5, $140 a seat) — from anywhere in metro San Diego, ~260 miles, tolls and the driver’s wait inside the number, driver staged at the stadium through the game. New Year’s Day in Pasadena — what actually happens
The Rose Bowl (1001 Rose Bowl Dr) sits in the Arroyo Seco with a handful of access roads; on game day the lots are prepaid and the neighborhood is closed to through traffic, and when the Rose Parade runs the same morning Colorado Boulevard and the streets around it are shut from before dawn. The last hour before kickoff and the first hour after the game are the two worst traffic hours of the year in Pasadena, and the 110 and 210 take them at once.
A quarterfinal doubles that: two national fan bases, hotels sold out from Pasadena to downtown LA, and rideshare surging on the busiest holiday of the year. A car summoned after the game can take an hour to reach you.
EGT’s play: door pickup in San Diego timed to the confirmed kickoff, a preferred-parking pass bought in advance (as EGT did for the September Guns N’ Roses show) so the drop and the pickup happen at the same gate, driver staged at the stadium through the game, and a straight shot home down the 5 the same night.
Why one flat price for the car beats the alternatives: an Uber Black from San Diego to Pasadena is about 130 miles each way — at $7.60 + $3.72/mile + $0.62/minute that is roughly $560 one way before any surge, and nobody will take the return. Hourly black-car services bill 10–12 hours at $120–$200 an hour. EGT’s flat round trip covers both legs, both tolls and the staged wait; split five ways in the Escalade it is $140 a seat for a CFP quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl. The full comparison →
