The course
Torrey Pines is that rarest thing: a true championship venue — the South Course hosted the 2008 and 2021 U.S. Opens — that remains a public, municipal course. In January 2027 it hosts The Sentry (the tournament long known as the Farmers Insurance Open). For a traveling golfer, the hard part is the tee time, not the golf: non-resident bookings are competitive and dawn slots go first. Once you’ve won that fight, the last thing to gamble on is the drive up N. Torrey Pines Road.
