UC San Diego runs on the quarter system, so move-in lands mid-September: the official 2026–27 Housing, Dining & Hospitality calendar lists early move-in September 16–18 and housing contracts beginning September 19. Check your college’s residential-life page for your assigned window — UCSD’s seven colleges stagger their arrivals, and “UCSD” is a big place to tell a rideshare driver.

The drive from SAN runs about 20–30 minutes up I-5. Your driver takes you to your college’s loading zone — Seventh, Sixth, Muir, Marshall, Revelle, Warren, or ERC — not a generic campus pin half a mile from your hall.
The honest version of what we are (and aren’t)
We are the airport-to-dorm leg: a family of three, six checked bags, bedding, and the box of things that couldn’t be shipped — all inside one electric SUV with a named, licensed driver. We are not a moving company: no mattresses, no furniture, no trailer. If you’re moving a full apartment, rent the U-Haul and we’ll say so. And if you’ve already rented a car for the whole week, drive it — you don’t need us twice. Where families book us: the arrival day itself, when nobody wants to stuff a rental counter line, two luggage carts and a jet-lagged freshman into the same afternoon.
The Target run
Move-in day has a second act: the Target/IKEA run for the mini-fridge, the fan, the things the packing list forgot. That’s a multi-stop booking, and it prices honestly as hourly service — $175/hr for the BMW i7, $200/hr for the SUVs, 2-hour minimum — your driver waits at the curb while you shop, loads everything, and delivers it to the residence hall loading zone. One booking, no juggling two rideshares with a flatscreen.
International arrivals
UCSD’s large international cohort often lands with everything they own. The IQ-L takes a family and the full airport load in one vehicle, your driver meets you inside at baggage claim with a name sign, and the fare was fixed in dollars before you boarded — no meter anxiety on your first hour in the country.
