Army and Navy Academy car service — school runs by a named driver
Morning drop, afternoon pickup, practices and late nights — one licensed driver your family knows, a text to you at pickup and drop, and a flat price agreed up front and held for the school year.
Who we drive to Army and Navy Academy
Army and Navy Academy, the Academy's oceanfront campus on Carlsbad Boulevard in Carlsbad Village. An all-boys college-preparatory military school for grades 7–12; this page is for day cadets who go home each night (the airport transfer page covers boarding cadets' travel days). Families we serve here usually ride in from Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Encinitas, Rancho Santa Fe, Escondido and Carmel Valley. On our rate map the campus sits in Zone 3 to Zone 4.
Bell schedule: The school does not publish its bell schedule on the pages we checked — confirm the bell schedule with the school and we set the pickup to land ahead of it. Formation and uniform inspection mean the morning time is firm; we set the home pickup to land with margin.
| What families book | How it runs |
|---|---|
| Morning drop, Monday–Friday | Fixed pickup time at home, same driver, text on arrival at school |
| Afternoon or after-practice pickup | Set time, or a text window when practice runs late |
| Two days a week, or alternating weeks | Built around a work schedule or a two-home calendar |
| Games, rehearsals, tutoring, airport runs for school trips | Added to the same account, quoted flat in advance |
Why parents choose a named driver over a rideshare
- No teen rideshare in San Diego. Uber’s 13–17 teen accounts run only in Los Angeles and San Francisco and Lyft Teen is not offered here, so a solo rider under 18 is outside both platforms’ terms and they are not a school-run option.
- One driver, not a rotating pool. Standing routes run with the same driver whenever the schedule allows.
- You stay in the loop. A text at pickup and at drop, every run.
- Licensed, insured charter carrier. CPUC TCP #0046494-A, commercial insurance, quiet all-electric cars.
- Flat and predictable. Quoted once for the route, held for the school year — no surge on rainy mornings.
We ask only for what the route needs: days, times and your neighborhood. Anything about your student is shared on your terms, once you sign up.
How school runs are priced
Your per-run rate is quoted by the owner for your exact route and held for the school year. One run = one pickup to one drop, up to about 10 miles. Each additional stop adds $35. Waiting beyond 10 minutes adds $1 per minute. Pickups after 8 PM add $15. A single, non-weekly ride is quoted separately from a weekly rotation.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| One run — one pickup to one drop, up to about 10 miles | Your per-run rate (quoted, held for the school year) |
| Each additional stop (a second school in the same run, a second home, a practice field) | + $35 per stop |
| Waiting beyond 10 minutes (a bell wait, a late practice) | + $1 per minute |
| Pickup after 8 PM | + $15 |
Seats and the waiting list: Standing weekday seats are limited and run on a waiting list. Your per-run rate is quoted when your seat opens and is held for the school year; rates step up as seats fill, so earlier families keep lower rates. Hold your seat early for Army and Navy Academy.
Call or text (858) 522-0264 with the addresses, days and bell times and the owner quotes your route, usually the same day.
Questions Army and Navy Academy parents ask
Can my teen take an Uber or Lyft to Army and Navy Academy?
No. In San Diego, Uber and Lyft have no teen-account option (Uber's 13-17 teen rides run only in Los Angeles and San Francisco; Lyft Teen is not offered here), so an unaccompanied rider under 18 is outside both platforms' terms and drivers cancel. EGT is a licensed charter carrier (TCP #0046494-A) and runs school routes with a parent as the account holder and one named driver.
How much is a car service to Army and Navy Academy?
School routes are owner-quoted for your exact route and held for the school year, never metered. Army and Navy Academy sits in Zone 3 to Zone 4 of our rate map. One run is one pickup to one drop (up to about 10 miles); each additional stop adds $35, waiting beyond 10 minutes adds $1 per minute, and pickups after 8 PM add $15.
Is there a waiting list for a standing school-run seat?
Yes. Standing weekday seats are limited and run on a waiting list. Your per-run rate is quoted when your seat opens and is held for the school year; rates step up as seats fill, so earlier families keep lower rates.
Do we get the same driver every day?
Yes. Standing school routes are run by the same named driver whenever the schedule allows, and the parent gets a text at pickup and at drop-off.
What time do you pick up for Army and Navy Academy?
We set the pickup around the school's bell schedule. Army and Navy Academy does not publish its bell times on the pages we checked, so confirm the bell schedule with the school and we build the pickup time to land ahead of it with a margin for traffic.
Can you cover practices, games and late pickups too?
Yes. Activity runs, late pickups after practice or rehearsal, and airport runs for school trips can sit on the same account, quoted flat in advance.
Is this the same as the cadet airport transfer page?
No. That page is for boarding cadets flying in and out on travel days. This page is the daily school run for day cadets: a standing weekday seat from home to the Carlsbad campus and back, same named driver.
