School Run Car Service for Working Parents in San Diego — Quoted Per Route, Same Driver, No Peak-Hour Fees
Mornings only, afternoons only, two days a week or all five. One named driver, two texts per run, one quoted price per leg. The 2:55 PM pickup stops being your problem.
TL;DR
Pick the shape — mornings, afternoons, both, some days — and the quoted per-leg rate holds for the school year. One driver your child knows. Two texts per run. No contract, no deposit, no surcharge at bell times.
The shapes that work
The owner quotes one flat rate per leg for your addresses and school — single-zone runs are $75 per leg, longer routes are confirmed at booking — and it holds for the school year. The weekly number is that rate times the legs you use:
| Shape | Legs per week | Weekly (single-zone example at $75) |
|---|---|---|
| Mornings only, Monday–Friday | 5 | $375 |
| Afternoons only, Monday–Friday | 5 | $375 |
| Both ways, every school day | 10 | $750 |
| Two days a week, both ways | 4 | $300 |
| After-school activity run, three days | 3 | $225 |
| After-care pickup at 5:30, Monday–Friday | 5 | $375 |
Never metered. Classmates from the same school can share the Rivian R1S and each family pays its own quoted per-leg rate with the same driver.
What a standing schedule actually removes
The 2:30 glance at the clock in the middle of a meeting. The carpool text chain that collapses the week someone travels. The nanny’s sick day. The Thursday nobody has covered. A standing schedule is set up once — addresses, days, bell times, the driver’s name — and then the only thing that moves is a text from us that your child is picked up, and another that your child has arrived.
The after-school problem
School ends at 2:55, practice starts at 4:00 across town, tutoring is at 5:15 and you are in the office until 6. The same driver runs the afternoon sequence — school to practice, practice to tutoring, tutoring to home — and siblings ride together. The sequence is quoted flat as a set. Weekend tournaments and Saturday practices are added by text.
When the carpool falls through
Text us. When a car is open we run it the same day at your quoted per-leg rate. Plainly: we are a small licensed fleet — the owners drive — and school-week slots are limited, so standing schedules get first call and same-day requests are filled when a car is open. If we cannot, we say so within minutes, not at 2:50.
What parents get, structurally
EGT operates under California PUC charter-party carrier license TCP #0046494-A, which requires DMV Employer Pull-Notice monitoring on every driver, a mandatory drug-and-alcohol testing program and verified $1.5M commercial liability insurance. Drivers are named to you in advance. Vehicles are 100% electric — a BMW i7, a Rivian R1S and a Cadillac Escalade IQ-L — quiet enough that homework happens on the way. A rotation is assigned to one named driver introduced to the family by name; there are no silent substitutions. If that driver is ever unavailable you are told the substitute’s name before the run.
Frequently asked
Can I book mornings only?
Yes. Mornings only, afternoons only, both, or specific days — any shape, one quoted per-leg rate, and the price does not change with the shape.
Is it the same driver every day?
Yes. One named, background-checked driver takes the rotation. If that driver is ever unavailable you are told the substitute’s name before the run, never after.
How do I know my child arrived?
Two texts per run — picked up, arrived — to you, to both parents, or to a caregiver you name.
What about early-release days and minimum days?
The standing schedule carries the school’s bell calendar; a one-off change is a text. There is no fee for changing a time with notice.
Do you charge more at 7:30 AM or 2:55 PM?
No. Your quoted per-leg rate is the price at every bell time; there is no peak-hour fee, no booking fee and no surge.
Is there a contract or a deposit?
Neither. Billed in arrears for the days we actually drive; pause for breaks and holidays; stop any time.
Do you provide car seats?
Car seats are parent-supplied and parent-installed (California law); tell us the ages and we will confirm the vehicle fits the seats and the siblings.
