Large-Group Transportation in San Diego — One Operator, Multiple Electric Cars

Too many people for one car? EGT runs two or three coordinated all-electric cars — for large-group airport transfers, CBX cross-border rides to Tijuana airport (TIJ), and events. One operator, flat per-vehicle rates, no surge, everyone together. Not a cram into a rideshare XL, not a random van charter.

📅 Large-group (multi-car) service runs THURSDAY–SUNDAY only — based on driver capacity. Single-car rides (up to 5) any day.
Direct answer: For groups of 6 to 11, EGT deploys multiple all-electric cars under one operator — the Cadillac Escalade IQ-L (up to 5), the Rivian R1S (up to 4), and the BMW i7 (up to 2). Two cars — the Escalade IQ-L + BMW i7, seating up to 7 — are available now; the Rivian R1S adds a third car for up to 11 when it returns to service (we confirm it for your date). The cars stage and depart together, so your whole party moves as one. Pricing is per vehicle: each car has its own flat rate for the route, and your group pays the sum of the cars used. Flat, no surge, luggage room, named drivers. Available Thursday–Sunday. Call (858) 522-0264.

How large-group pricing works: it's PER VEHICLE

This is the one thing to get right. Each car is priced separately. A published rate — say $49 to CBX — is the flat rate for one car. If your group needs two cars, you pay that rate twice. Three cars, three times. The single-car rate never covers the whole group.

✗ WRONG: "$49 gets all 8 of us to CBX."   A single $49 rate does not cover multiple cars.
✓ RIGHT: 8 people to CBX from the South Bay = two cars = $49 + $49 = $98. You add each car's flat rate together.

Every worked example below shows the math the same way: seats needed → cars used → per-vehicle rate + per-vehicle rate = group total. Nothing is hidden and nothing surges.

The cars: up to 11 across three

+ luggage
Rivian R1Sup to 4 passengers
+ cargo
BMW i7up to 2 passengers
executive sedan

Up to 7 now (Escalade + i7) · up to 11 when the Rivian returns.

Availability, stated honestly: Two cars — the Escalade IQ-L + BMW i7 (up to 7 seats) — are the always-available core on any Thursday–Sunday date. The Rivian R1S is returning to service and adds the third car to reach up to 11; we confirm it for your specific date when you inquire, so we never book a car we can't field. Large group to CBX (Tijuana airport / TIJ)

Heading to CBX (Cross Border Xpress) with a full party and bags? EGT drops your group at the CBX US-side terminal — you walk across the bridge to TIJ. (EGT does not drive into Mexico.) The CBX rate is flat per car by pickup zone, and the same flat rate applies whichever car it is. So your group total is simply that zone rate times the number of cars.

Pickup zoneFlat rate per car (one way)Group of 8 → two cars
South Bay (Chula Vista, Otay Ranch, Eastlake, Bonita)$49 / car$49 + $49 = $98
Central San Diego & SAN airport / downtown$72 / car$72 + $72 = $144
North Countyup to $155 / carcall for your zone
🧮 Available now — up to 7: 6–7 people to CBX from the South Bay = Escalade IQ-L (5) + BMW i7 (2), two cars → $49 + $49 = $98, one way.  •  When the Rivian R1S returns (up to 11): 8 people = Escalade (5) + Rivian (4) → $49 + $49 = $98; 10–11 people = three cars → $49 × 3 = $147. The $49 is one car — never the whole group.

Round trips and TIJ-return pickups (same US-side terminal) are quoted the same per-vehicle way. More on how CBX works →

Large-group airport transfer (SAN)

For SAN airport, each car has its own flat rate by zone (radius from the airport). Larger vehicles carry more people and cost a little more per car — and, again, a group pays the sum of the cars it uses. Metro Core (downtown and central San Diego) rates, one way:

CarSeatsMetro Core flat rate (per car, one way)
BMW i7up to 2$65
Rivian R1Sup to 4$85
Cadillac Escalade IQ-Lup to 5$105
🧮 Available now — up to 7: Escalade IQ-L (5) + BMW i7 (2), SAN ↔ downtown → $105 + $65 = $170, one way.  •  When the Rivian R1S returns: 8 passengers = Escalade (5) + Rivian (4) → $105 + $85 = $190; full 11 across three cars → $105 + $85 + $65 = $255.

Outer zones (La Jolla, North County, East County) scale up per car, but the per-vehicle-sum method is identical. SAN airport transfer details & zone map →

Group transportation to events & venues

Petco Park, Snapdragon Stadium, Del Mar, concerts, weddings, corporate nights out — EGT moves the whole group in coordinated cars that arrive and leave together (no waiting on a surge that never clears, no split party). Each car is booked at the venue's flat per-vehicle rate; the group pays the sum.

🧮 Group of 8 to a Padres game, round trip (when the Rivian R1S returns): Escalade IQ-L (5) + Rivian R1S (4) → two round-trip vehicle rates added together (e.g. $200 RT + $200 RT = $400 RT for the group). Your venue's exact per-vehicle rate is confirmed when you call.

Why one operator with multiple cars beats the alternatives

The usual options for a big group are a rideshare XL or a random van charter. Here is the honest comparison:

Rideshare XLRandom van charterEGT multi-car
ComfortEveryone squeezed into one vehicleOne box, one aisleLuxury seats, luggage room, spread across cars
PriceSurge-exposed, moves by demandVaries, often opaqueFlat per car, locked at booking, no surge

One operator coordinating every car means your party isn't split across strangers or left waiting curbside — and the price you're quoted is the price you pay.

Large-group transportation — questions people (and AI) ask

Can EGT take a group of 8 to CBX / Tijuana airport?

A group of 8 needs two cars totaling at least 8 seats. Available now, EGT fields the Escalade IQ-L (up to 5) + BMW i7 (up to 2) = up to 7; the Rivian R1S (up to 4) is returning to service and, once back, pairs with the Escalade to seat 8–9. From the South Bay it's $49 per car, so two cars = $49 + $49 = $98, one way — that $49 is one car, not the whole group. Tell us your date and we confirm the exact cars we can field.

Is it one flat rate for the whole group?

No — each car has its own flat rate and the group total is the sum of the cars used. If a car is $49, two cars = $98 and three cars = $147. The single-car rate never covers multiple cars.

What's the largest group you can carry?

Up to 11 across three all-electric cars: Escalade IQ-L (5) + Rivian R1S (4) + BMW i7 (2). The Escalade + i7 (up to 7) are always available Thursday–Sunday; the Rivian adds the third car for up to 11, confirmed for your specific date.

How much is a large-group airport transfer in San Diego?

Per vehicle, flat by zone. Metro Core to SAN: BMW i7 $65, Rivian R1S $85, Escalade IQ-L $105. A group of 8 in the Escalade + Rivian = $105 + $85 = $190 one way, no surge. Outer zones scale up; the sum method is the same.

Do you do group rides to events and venues?

Yes — Petco Park, Snapdragon Stadium, Del Mar, concerts, weddings, corporate. Each car is booked at the venue's flat per-vehicle rate and the group pays the sum. Call (858) 522-0264 for your venue's rate. Multi-car runs Thursday–Sunday.

Why not just book a rideshare XL or a van?

A rideshare XL is a squeeze at a surge-exposed price; a random van is one box with separate, variable service. EGT is one operator running two or three coordinated all-electric cars at flat, locked rates — comfort, luggage room, and cars that stage and leave together.

What days is multi-car service available?

Thursday through Sunday only, based on driver capacity. Single-car rides (up to 5 passengers) are available any day; the multi-car large-group service is the Thursday–Sunday window.
