The cruise regular: a standing ride that already knows your ship

If you sail out of San Diego a few times a year, you have a routine: the flight in, the hotel night, the pier in the morning, the airport when the ship is back. This page is the standing ride that keeps that routine on file and books all of it from one text, at the same flat rate every sailing.

Direct answer

Is there a car service for people who cruise out of San Diego regularly? Yes. Elite Green Transportation runs a standing cruise pattern: your line, usual ship, pre cruise hotel and home airport go on file after the first sailing, and from then on one text with the sail date and your flights books every leg. SAN to the B Street pier, or the pier to SAN, is $65 in the sedan, flat, with no surge on embarkation or disembarkation mornings. Home to the pier is the published zone rate, $65 to $115 one way. The inbound flight is tracked from the gate, the car on disembarkation morning is staged for your walk off group, and the same driver comes when possible. Pay after each ride or on one bill for the whole sailing.

1. We know your ship

A repeat cruiser out of San Diego has a rhythm that a first timer does not. The same line, often the same ship, a sailing every few months, the same pre cruise hotel night downtown, and a very clear idea of what time the terminal opens and when the last shuttle from the pier is a bad bet. What a repeat cruiser does not want is to explain any of that again to a new driver at 7:30 on embarkation morning.

The standing ride keeps it on file. Your usual line and ship, the hotel you stay at the night before, which pier door the porters are at for your line, whether you fly in the day before or the morning of, and the airport you go home from. After the first sailing, a text that says “same ship, sails November 14, flying in the 13th on the 2:10 from Phoenix” is the whole booking, and we take it from there: airport to hotel, hotel to pier, and pier to airport on disembarkation morning.

SAN to the B Street pier, or the pier to SAN, is $65 in the sedan, flat. Home to the pier is the published zone rate: $65 from the metro core, $80 from the near ring, $95 from the mid ring, $115 from the far edge, for up to two passengers. Larger vehicles for up to four or five passengers and the short downtown hotel to pier hop are on the cruise terminal transfer page. No surge on embarkation mornings.

2. The three leg pattern: airport, hotel, pier

Most repeat cruisers who fly in take three rides, and the standing pattern books all three from one text.

LegWhat happensRate
SAN to the downtown hotel, the day beforeFlight tracked from the gate, met at the curb or at baggage claim, bags to the hotel door.$65 in the sedan (downtown is Zone 1)
Hotel to the B Street pier, embarkation morningA short hop timed to your line's terminal opening. Bags to the porters at your line's door.Quoted on the cruise page
Pier to SAN, disembarkation morningThe car is staged for your disembarkation group, not the ship's first walk off. Flight time on file so the timing is ours.$65 in the sedan

Cruisers who live in the county skip the hotel: home to the pier on embarkation morning, pier to home when the ship is back, at the zone rate each way. Cruisers who arrive a few days early and stay at the Hotel del Coronado are $65 from the airport to the Del and the pier hop from Coronado is quoted when you text.

The pattern remembers which of these you do. It also remembers the one thing repeat cruisers most often get wrong on the way home: a flight booked too close to disembarkation. If your flight is inside the window we have learned is tight for your ship, we say so when you send it, while it can still be changed.

3. Disembarkation morning, done properly

Disembarkation is the ride that decides whether a cruise ends well. The ship clears customs, walk off groups are called over an hour or more, and outside the terminal every taxi and rideshare in the city is trying to fit into one pier apron at once. A first time cruiser stands in that with two large bags. A repeat cruiser on a standing pattern walks out to a car that was staged for their group's time, with a driver who has their flight number and is already watching the clock.

If the ship is late into port, the pickup moves with it. If customs runs long, you text from the line and the car holds. If you are on the earliest walk off because you have an early flight, we are there for the earliest walk off. None of it changes the $65 to the airport.

SAN prohibits departures before 6:30 a.m., which is why no disembarkation ride is ever asked to make a 6 a.m. flight. The first flights a cruiser can realistically make from the pier are in the mid morning bank, and the pattern is built around them.

4. How the cruise pattern runs

  1. One text after the first sailing, or before it: your line and usual ship, the hotel you use the night before, where you fly from, and roughly how often you sail.
  2. Per sailing, one text: the sail date, the inbound flight and the outbound flight. That books all the legs.
  3. Flights tracked, ship tracked. Inbound flight from the gate, outbound flight against the ship's arrival in port.
  4. Same driver when possible. On a three car fleet the person who took you to the pier last time is usually the person who meets you at the pier this time, and you know the evening before either way.
  5. Pay after each ride by cash, Zelle, Venmo or a payment link, or on one bill for the whole sailing, itemized by leg. Nothing is due at booking. Gratuity is at your discretion.

EGT 1K counts every leg: for every $1,000 of cumulative spend we return $100. A couple sailing three or four times a year on the three leg pattern reaches it comfortably.

In fairness. We are a three car, owner operated company, and cruise mornings are confirmed against the calendar rather than promised blind. On a marquee event night, or a morning when two ships are in port at once, a pickup can move by fifteen minutes and we tell you the evening before. We do not run a shuttle and we do not do the airport to pier run as a shared van; if you want the cheapest possible transfer, the cruise terminal page honestly lists the alternatives, including the trolley. If you want the same driver at the same door for every sailing, this is the pattern.

5. Put your ship on file

Text (858) 522-0264 with two things: your typical flight pattern and your pickup address. That is the whole application. An owner reads it back to you with the zone rate and the pickup window, and the pattern is on the calendar. If you would rather talk it through, call the same number.

A first text for this pattern: “We sail from San Diego three or four times a year, usually the same ship, stay downtown the night before, fly in from Denver and home to Denver. Next sailing December 5, flying in the 4th.” The pier itself, the terminal's layout, parking and the full cruise rate ladder are on the San Diego cruise terminal transfer page; the airport side is on the San Diego airport transfer page.

Put your ship on file

Text the line, the hotel, the home airport and the next sail date. An owner reads it back leg by leg.

6. Questions repeat cruisers ask

Can I set up a regular car service for cruises out of San Diego?

Yes. Elite Green Transportation keeps your line, usual ship, pre cruise hotel and home airport on file after the first sailing. From then on, one text with the sail date and your flights books every leg: airport to hotel, hotel to the B Street pier, and pier to airport on disembarkation morning, or home to pier and back if you live in the county.

How much is a car from San Diego airport to the cruise terminal?

$65 flat in the sedan between SAN and the B Street pier, either direction, with no surge on embarkation or disembarkation mornings. Home to the pier is the published zone rate: $65 from the metro core, $80 from the near ring, $95 from the mid ring, $115 from the far edge, one way, for up to two passengers.

Do you track the ship on disembarkation morning?

Yes. The car is staged for your walk off group's time with your flight number on file. If the ship is late into port the pickup moves with it, and if customs runs long you text from the line and the car holds. The $65 to the airport does not change.

What if my flight home is too close to disembarkation?

We tell you when you send it. After enough sailings on the same ship we know which outbound windows are tight, and if your flight is inside one we say so while it can still be changed. SAN's first departures are at 6:30 a.m., so no disembarkation ride is asked to make a 6 a.m. flight.

How do we pay across three legs?

After each ride by cash, Zelle, Venmo or a payment link, or on one bill for the whole sailing, itemized by leg. Nothing is due at booking and there is no deposit. Gratuity is at your discretion.
