Direct answer: getting to My Chemical Romance at Petco Park on August 30, 2026
My Chemical Romance plays Petco Park on Sunday, August 30, 2026, with support from Babymetal. The Padres describe it in their own words as a “full stadium show”, and the ticketing host lists a 6:00 PM start. Because it is a full-venue concert rather than a Gallagher Square show, all gates open for entry — Gaslamp Gate at K & 7th, East Village Gate at K & 10th, Park Boulevard Gate at 10th & Park Blvd, and Home Plate Gate at Park Blvd & Tony Gwynn Dr — plus the Gaslamp Breezeway at 7th & K for floor and GA Pit ticket-holders.
Elite Green Transportation runs a flat round trip from anywhere in San Diego County: $150 BMW i7 (up to 2), $200 Rivian R1S (up to 4), or $250 Cadillac Escalade IQ-L (up to 5 — $50 a seat). Locked at booking, no surge, no parking pass, and your named driver stages through the show. Call (858) 522-0264.
The Padres are on the road on August 30, so there is no game-day collision downtown — but a sold-out stadium concert still empties into the East Village all at once.
Date, full-stadium designation and support act per the Padres’ official event page; 6:00 PM start per AXS, the ticketing host. Checked . Doors/gate time had not been published by the venue as of that date — the Padres post a Know Before You Go block on the event page shortly before each show.
TL;DR
My Chemical Romance with Babymetal, Petco Park, Sunday August 30, 2026, 6:00 PM, full stadium — all gates open. EGT flat round trip from anywhere in San Diego County: $150 BMW i7 (2 passengers), $200 Rivian R1S (up to 4), $250 Escalade IQ-L (up to 5, $50 per seat). Dropped at the private-vehicle curb at 10th Avenue & Park Boulevard — not the rideshare queue across Harbor Drive — and collected by the same named driver after the encore. Two round trips available per show. Call (858) 522-0264.
The drop-off most people get wrong at Petco Park
The Padres publish two different arrival instructions, on two different pages, and almost every guide quotes only the first.
Rideshare — Uber, Lyft and taxi — is directed to a loading zone “across the street from the Bayfront Hilton Hotel (next to the Convention Center) on Harbor Drive and Park Boulevard,” with fans told to “take the pedestrian sky bridge towards Petco Park.” That is a quarter mile plus a bridge, in both directions, and after a stadium concert it is where several thousand people queue for the same cars.
Private vehicles get a different, closer curb. The Padres’ own “Getting to Petco Park by Car” page states: “On the west side of the ballpark, guests may utilize 6th Avenue and K Street. On the east side of the ballpark, guests may utilize 10th Avenue and Park Boulevard.” A chauffeured car is a private vehicle. The east curb at 10th & Park Boulevard sits beside the Park Boulevard Gate — no Harbor Drive crossing, no sky bridge.
After the encore the address does not change. What changes is whether a specific vehicle and a specific driver are already parked there waiting for you. That is the entire difference on a 40,000-person exit.

Show-night plan from around San Diego
For a 6:00 PM Sunday start, work backwards from the security queue rather than the set time. A full-stadium show opens all four bowl gates, which spreads entry — but the roads into the East Village do not widen to match.
| Coming from | Leave by | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Downtown / Little Italy / Hillcrest | 4:45 – 5:00 PM | Short run, but Park Blvd backs up from about an hour before the doors. |
| La Jolla / UTC / Coronado | 4:15 – 4:30 PM | Sunday evening I-5 southbound is usually kind; the bottleneck is the last half mile. |
| Del Mar / Carmel Valley | 4:00 PM | Allow for the Sunday beach-return wave on I-5. |
| Carlsbad / Encinitas / North County | 3:30 – 3:45 PM | This is also the group for whom the last trolley home does not work. |
| Chula Vista / South Bay | 4:30 PM | I-5 north into downtown moves well on a Sunday evening. |
Your driver confirms the exact pickup time with you the day before and tracks conditions the afternoon of. If Babymetal’s set runs long or the encore stretches, nothing changes on your end — the car is staged and there is no meter running.
What it actually costs, honestly compared
| Option | Real cost for a group of 5 | The trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Drive & park | Event-rate parking, and it cannot be prepaid within 4 hours of the show | Someone stays sober, and you sit in the East Village exit. The Padres publish no parking prices, so you are price-taking on the night. |
| Uber / Lyft | Two fares, and the return is the worst surge window of the night | You are sent to the Harbor Drive queue across the sky bridge with thousands of others. |
| MTS Trolley | $2.50 each way, $6.00 day pass | Genuinely the best option if you live near a line and the last train works for you. Most lines stop between about 11:00 PM and 12:07 AM — check before you rely on it. |
| EGT Escalade IQ-L (5 seats) | $250 flat round trip — $50 a seat | Curb drop at 10th & Park Blvd, named driver staged through the show, leave when you want. |
The honest concession: if you are one person living a few blocks from a trolley stop, take the trolley — it drops you within a block and costs $2.50. A flat-rate car wins for groups of three to five, for anyone coming from the coast or North County, and for any night where nobody wants to be the designated driver.
Flying in for the show?
Plenty of fans fly into San Diego (SAN) for a stadium date and stay downtown or at the beach. EGT runs the airport transfer and the concert round trip on the same flat-rate model, with the same named driver where scheduling allows — no rental car, no parking pass, no app.
Two round trips available per show

Call (858) 522-0264My Chemical Romance at Petco Park — common questions
What time does the show start? AXS, the ticketing host, lists 6:00 PM on Sunday, August 30, 2026. The Padres had not published a gate/doors time as of August 3 — they post that on the event’s Know Before You Go block shortly before the show.
Is this a full-stadium show or Gallagher Square? Full stadium, stated by the Padres. That means all gates open for entry, plus the Gaslamp Breezeway at 7th & K for floor and GA Pit ticket-holders. Gallagher Square shows, by contrast, enter only at the Balboa Gate on J Street.
Who is opening? Babymetal, per the Padres’ own event page.
Where will you drop us off? The private-vehicle curb at 10th Avenue & Park Boulevard, beside the Park Boulevard Gate — not the rideshare zone across Harbor Drive at the Bayfront Hilton. West-side drop at 6th & K is available if your seats are on the Gaslamp side.
What can I bring in? A single-compartment clear plastic bag no bigger than 12″×6″×12″, or a clutch no bigger than 5″×7″. At concerts the Padres allow no food or beverage at all, including factory-sealed water. Individual shows can be stricter than the standing policy — check the event page.
Is there a Padres game that day? No. The Padres are away on August 30, so there is no game-day collision downtown.
What if the show runs late? Nothing changes for you. The driver is staged and waiting; there is no meter and no surge window.
