TL;DR
Social Distortion (with Descendents) at Gallagher Square at Petco Park on Saturday, October 3, 2026 — entry at the Balboa Gate on J Street. Downtown’s event-zone meters run $10/hr and the whole crowd exits at once. EGT marquee-night flat round trip from anywhere in metro San Diego: $150 BMW i7 (2), $200 Rivian R1S (up to 4), or $250 Escalade IQ-L (up to 5, $50/seat) — drop on Fifth Avenue at the Gaslamp gates, driver staged downtown, rolls when you walk out. One round trip per vehicle per show, first-come, first-served. Call (858) 522-0264.
Gallagher Square night — sharper than a game night
A Padres crowd trickles out from the seventh inning on. A concert crowd leaves together — one encore, one wave, every rideshare and parking garage hit at the same minute. The downtown special-event meter zone ($10/hour across ~200 blocks) applies to major Petco Park events, and Gallagher Square shows put the exit right into the East Village street grid.
Gallagher Square specifics: the Padres state that “Gallagher Square Concerts: Entry will be located at the Balboa Gate on J Street” — the open-air park stage inside the ballpark footprint, not the main bowl. Smaller crowd than a stadium show, same one-wave exit onto J Street and Park Boulevard.
EGT’s play: drop a short walk from the gate before the show, driver staged downtown during the set, and a pickup that rolls the moment you text. No surge, no garage queue, no meter math.
Show listing and gate policy per the official Petco Park concerts page; meter-zone figures per our Petco parking cost analysis. Checked . The Padres had not published a start or gate time for this show as of that date.
The same day downtown
Padres game that day? There is no regular-season game — the Padres’ season ends September 27. A postseason home game on this date is possible only if the Padres clinch and advance; check the Padres schedule the week of the show.
Also that night: SDSU Aztecs vs Texas State at Snapdragon Stadium, 7:30 PM (Mission Valley) — a second stadium crowd on the freeways at the same hour, and Bruno Mars plays SoFi in Inglewood for anyone coming down from LA.
The drop-off most people get wrong at Petco Park
The Padres publish two different arrival instructions, on two different pages, and almost every guide quotes only the first.
Rideshare — Uber, Lyft and taxi — is directed to a loading zone “across the street from the Bayfront Hilton Hotel (next to the Convention Center) on Harbor Drive and Park Boulevard,” with fans told to “take the pedestrian sky bridge towards Petco Park.” That is a quarter mile plus a bridge, in both directions, and after a stadium concert it is where several thousand people queue for the same cars.
Private vehicles get a different, closer curb. The Padres’ own “Getting to Petco Park by Car” page states: “On the west side of the ballpark, guests may utilize 6th Avenue and K Street. On the east side of the ballpark, guests may utilize 10th Avenue and Park Boulevard.” A chauffeured car is a private vehicle.
Where EGT recommends being dropped. Not at the ballpark — on Fifth Avenue at the gates of the Gaslamp, by Lou & Mickey's (224 Fifth Avenue), then a short walk in through the Gaslamp. The two curbs the Padres publish for private vehicles both sit against the stadium, which is exactly why they jam: every private car wants the same few metres at the same ten minutes. Fifth Avenue sits outside that. You are out and walking while the queue is still crawling — and afterwards your car is already on a moving street grid instead of waiting for the Park Boulevard crush to clear. Prefer to be set down at the gate and happy to wait for it? Ask, and we will use 6th & K.
This is EGT operating practice, not a Padres instruction — their official private-vehicle zones (10th Avenue & Park Boulevard, 6th Avenue & K Street) are mapped on our Petco Park guide. Lou & Mickey's is named as a landmark only, per the restaurant's own published address, 224 Fifth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101; EGT has no affiliation with it and does not use its valet. Checked .
What changes after the encore is whether a specific vehicle and a specific driver are already parked there waiting for you. That is the entire difference on a 40,000-person exit.

On Fifth Avenue at the gates of the Gaslamp, by Lou & Mickey's (224 Fifth Ave) — a short walk in to the ballpark, outside the Park Boulevard and 10th Avenue queue and nothing to do with the rideshare zone across Harbor Drive. Same spot after the encore. Prefer the Padres' published private-vehicle curb at 6th & K? Ask, and we will use it.
Is concert pricing the same as Padres game pricing? No — concert nights are marquee-event rates: $150 round trip in the BMW i7, $200 in the Rivian R1S (up to four) or $250 in the Escalade IQ-L (up to five passengers, $50 per seat).
