The Lucid Air Grand Touring is the other end of the electric argument: up to 516 miles of EPA range — the longest-range EV sold in America — with 819 hp, a glass-canopy cabin, and the serenity the Taycan trades for lap times. San Francisco and back on one charge. The 4S is for the coast road; the Air is for the road trip.

Not every San Diego day needs 562 horsepower. The Mustang Mach-E is the accessible tier of the same garage — a five-seat electric SUV with a frunk and full CarPlay, from the same owners, bookable now on Turo. Rent the Mach-E for the week, take the Taycan for the one day that deserves it — ask about running both.

How you actually get the car — and the airport rule nobody tells you

Here is what we can do that nobody else in San Diego can. Elite Green Transportation is a licensed car service with a driver — California TCP #0046494-A — and picking passengers up at San Diego International is our actual, permitted, everyday business. Our base is about five minutes from the terminals.

So we meet you the legal way — and as of August 2026, we do it free: book any of the founders’ cars on Turo and the black-car airport connection is included at no charge. A licensed driver collects you at baggage claim in one of our private-driver electric cars — BMW i7 or Cadillac Escalade IQ-L — on the permit that authorises exactly that, and drives you the five minutes to your Taycan. You step out of one EGT car and into another. No rideshare to an off-site lot, no scavenger hunt in a parking structure, no lockbox at 11pm.

Why nobody else can offer this at any price: the connection requires a California TCP charter-party carrier permit — the airport pickup is a licensed passenger trip, not a car handover. EGT holds TCP #0046494-A; to our knowledge no other Turo host in San Diego County holds one. Rental agencies charge for shuttles; other hosts send you to an off-airport rideshare. We send a black car, and it costs you nothing. Scheduled when you book, flight-tracked on the day.

Where we hand the car over

• Your hotel — downtown, Gaslamp, Coronado, La Jolla, Del Mar, Mission Bay, Point Loma, Carlsbad. Delivery to a hotel is unrestricted and is the simplest option for most visitors.
• Your address, anywhere in San Diego County.
• Our base, five minutes from SAN — with the free black-car connection from the terminal described above.
• Cross Border Xpress (CBX) in Otay Mesa, which unlike SAN is a permitted Turo delivery location.

What happens at handover

1. We track your inbound flight — the same flight tracking we run on private-driver arrivals. Late flight, later handover, no penalty.
2. The car arrives charged and clean, with a charging plan for wherever you are actually going — Julian, Palomar, the coast road, Los Angeles and back.
3. An owner hands you the keys in person and walks the car with you. We photograph it together, on the spot. That protects you exactly as much as it protects us.
4. Return the same way — your hotel, your address, or back to us.

Delivery is arranged through the Turo booking and any fee is shown on the listing before you confirm. The SAN restriction is Turo's platform-wide airport policy, not an EGT limitation — we would rather tell you the rule up front than have you discover it on landing day.

Why trust a listing with no reviews yet

Let us say the awkward part first. This Turo listing is new. It does not have a wall of five-star reviews, and we are not going to pretend otherwise or quietly hope you do not notice. What it has instead is an operator with a licence, a name, and a public track record — which is more than most peer-to-peer listings can show you at any review count.

You are being asked to trust someone with a $160,000 car and your weekend. The reasonable thing is to check who you are dealing with before you book. Everything above is verifiable without taking our word for it — which is exactly the point.
