Self-Drive EV Rentals in San Diego — the Founders’ Personal Garage
Three electric cars — the personal vehicles of the founders of the county’s only 100% electric licensed car service, not company cars — listed on Turo and delivered charged to your hotel or door — each with a free black-car chauffeur pickup from the airport to your car, an arrangement no other host in San Diego can legally offer. Pick the key that fits the trip.
Direct answer
Yes — you can rent an electric car in San Diego with hotel delivery, from $79/day, on Turo. Three EVs — the founders’ personal vehicles, listed personally on Turo; Elite Green Transportation does not rent cars —: the Mustang Mach-E from $79/day (the everyday SUV — rent it for the whole trip), the Lucid Air Grand Touring at $179/day, Fri–Mon (up to 516 miles EPA — the road-trip car, and the only Lucid rentable in the county in our August 2026 survey), and the Porsche Taycan 4S at $189/day (562 hp — the occasion). All delivered charged with an in-person owner handover and a route-specific charging plan; every booking includes the free licensed black-car pickup from SAN baggage claim to your car. Call or text (858) 522-0264 and an owner answers.
Three cars, three jobs
| Car | The job | Rate | Days | Spoke |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mustang Mach-E | The everyday key — five seats, frunk, full CarPlay, your whole San Diego week | from $79/day · 3+ days ~$71 | Any day | Full page → |
| Lucid Air Grand Touring | The road trip — up to 516 mi EPA, 819 hp, glass-canopy serenity | $179/day · 3+ days $161 · events from $219 | Fri–Mon | Full page → |
| Porsche Taycan 4S | The occasion — 562 hp, 0–60 in 3.8s, the coast road | $189/day · 3+ days $170 · events from $249 | Any day | Full page → |
One standard across all three: delivered charged to any San Diego hotel or address, an owner hands you the keys in person and walks the car with you, flight tracked, charging plan included for where you’re actually going. Popular combination: Mach-E for the week, Taycan for the one day that deserves it — ask about running both.
Rates shown are the founders’ launch pricing as of August 2026; Turo’s trip fee and your chosen protection plan are added at checkout and shown before you confirm. Market context on every spoke page is a dated observation from our August 2026 survey.
The airport, handled — free, and only here
The rule: Turo prohibits every host from handing over a car anywhere on San Diego International Airport property — platform-wide, since June 30, 2024. Most hosts route you off-airport by rideshare, at your cost.
The exception you’re looking at: Elite Green Transportation holds TCP #0046494-A, and a licensed passenger pickup at baggage claim is exactly what that permit authorizes. So with any booking of the founders’ cars, a chauffeur collects you at baggage claim in a BMW i7 or Escalade IQ-L and drives you to your rental — free. Rental agencies run shared shuttles; other hosts hand you a rideshare receipt; nobody else in the county holds the permit to send a black car. Also unrestricted: every San Diego hotel, any county address, and CBX in Otay Mesa (Turo-permitted).
Personal vehicles, not company cars — the line, drawn in ink
We would rather over-explain this than let anyone assume otherwise. These cars are the personal vehicles of Elite Green Transportation’s founders — owned personally, insured for personal listing, and listed on Turo in the founders’ personal capacity. They are not company cars. Elite Green Transportation does not rent cars.
| Personal — the founders, via Turo | Company — Elite Green Transportation (TCP #0046494-A) |
|---|---|
| The rental cars themselves: Mustang Mach-E, Porsche Taycan 4S, Lucid Air Grand Touring — personal property, personally listed | The licensed chauffeured fleet: BMW i7, Rivian R1S, Cadillac Escalade IQ-L |
| Your rental — contract, pricing, handover, and Turo’s verification & protection | The free black-car airport pickup — a licensed passenger trip under the company’s TCP permit |
| Not operated under TCP #0046494-A | Operated under TCP #0046494-A, $1.5M commercial insurance, verifiable at the CPUC |
One sentence to remember: the company drives you; the founders’ personal cars are the ones you drive. Same people, same standards — two deliberately separate lanes.
