Why nights out are where rideshare breaks
Rideshare works fine at 7 PM. It breaks at exactly the moment your evening depends on it: closing time. California ABC rules end alcohol service at 2:00 AM statewide, which means every bar in the Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy and North Park empties onto the sidewalk in the same twenty minutes — and dynamic pricing does what it is designed to do when demand spikes. The ride home becomes the most expensive and least reliable ride of the week. EGT inverts that: you book both legs before you go out, the price is the price, and your named driver is staged nearby before last call, not matched to you after it.
Flat zone rates — the same ladder as our airport service
| Where you are (either direction) | BMW i7 (2) | Rivian R1S (4) | Escalade IQ-L (5) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zone 1 — Downtown/Gaslamp, Old Town, Mission Valley, Point Loma, Pacific Beach, Hillcrest, North Park | $65 | $85 | $105 |
| Zone 2 — Coronado, La Jolla/UTC, Del Mar, Chula Vista, La Mesa, Santee | $80 | $100 | $120 |
| Zone 3 — Encinitas, Solana Beach, Carlsbad, Rancho Santa Fe, Poway, Escondido | $95 | $115 | $135 |
Same ladder as our airport and cruise rates — one price system everywhere. $40 zone rides for 1K Loyalty members. Multi-stop evenings run hourly: $175/hr BMW i7 · $200/hr SUV, 2-hour minimum.
The lanes we run every weekend
- Gaslamp Quarter — dinner, shows, clubs across the 16-block historic district. Curbside drop on Fifth, staged pickup at your text.
- Date night — one driver for the whole evening: pickup, restaurant, dessert stop, home. Neither of you drives, neither of you watches a surge screen.
- Little Italy & Convoy dinner runs — San Diego's two best food districts have the two worst parking situations. We solve both.
- Concerts & games — every venue has its own page with live availability: Petco, Rady Shell, The Sound, Snapdragon.
How the night works
- Book both legs — call or text (858) 522-0264 with your evening's shape. Rate quoted flat, locked, gratuity included.
- Out — named driver, 100% electric, 10-15 minutes early.
- Home — your driver is staged before your pickup window. Running late over dessert? Text. The car waits for you, not the other way around.
Frequently asked
How much is a car service for a night out in San Diego?
Flat zone rates each way: $65 in a BMW i7 (2 passengers), $85 in a Rivian R1S (up to 4), $105 in an Escalade IQ-L (up to 5) anywhere in Zone 1 (Downtown, Gaslamp, Old Town, Mission Valley, Pacific Beach, Hillcrest, North Park). Zone 2 (Coronado, La Jolla, Del Mar) is $80/$100/$120. 1K Loyalty members ride the zone flat at $40. Multi-stop evenings run hourly at $175 (i7) or $200 (SUV) with a 2-hour minimum. The rate is locked at booking and never surges.
Does the price go up at closing time?
No. California bars stop serving at 2:00 AM under state ABC rules, and that mass exit is when on-demand app prices spike. EGT's rate is locked when you book — the 1:45 AM leg home costs the same as the 7 PM leg out.
Can we book the ride home in advance?
Yes — that is the whole point. Book both legs up front; your driver is staged near your venue before your pickup window and waits on your text if the evening runs long. No requesting, no matching, no cancellation roulette.
