Pickup for Turo — San Diego Airport to Your Turo, and Back Again
Direct answer: Turo has no counter at San Diego International, so you have to get yourself to the host. EGT runs that leg as a scheduled transfer to Turo hosts on the Point Loma peninsula — a Turo transfer is $40 one way, or $60 for the Turo round trip covering both legs, flat for any vehicle. Book the round trip and the return is scheduled in advance: we already know where you are dropping the Turo, and the driver is waiting when you hand back the keys.
Why the return leg is the whole problem
Nobody worries about the arrival. You land, you get a car, you go collect the Turo. It is five to ten minutes from the terminal and it is fine.
The return is different. You have to drop the vehicle back at the host's spot — usually a residential curb, sometimes a small lot behind Liberty Station or off Rosecrans — and then get to the airport with a boarding time. That is a low-density block, frequently before sunrise, and it is the exact place and hour where on-demand supply is thinnest. You are done with the car, you are standing on the sidewalk with your bags, and you are refreshing an app.
Booking the Turo round trip at $60 removes that. The drop-off address is on the booking, the time is on the booking, and a named driver is scheduled to be there. That is the entire product.

Flat means flat: gratuity, tolls and flight tracking are inside the number. No surge, no percentage service charge, no airport add-on. Any of our three vehicles at the same price — whichever is free is the one that comes.
Where Turo hosts actually meet you at SAN — Spanish Landing, Harbor Island, or not at the airport at all
- Spanish Landing / Harbor Island handoff. A short walk or a five-minute ride across North Harbor Drive from Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. You do not need us for this leg, and we will tell you so — a rideshare or the walk is the right call unless you are travelling with a family, car seats and a luggage cart, in which case call and we will quote the hop honestly.
- Host is at their address in Point Loma, Liberty Station, Ocean Beach, Shelter Island or Midway. This is the lane the Turo transfer below is built for: $40 one way to your Turo, or the $60 Turo round trip that also has a named driver waiting when you drop the car off before your flight home.
- Host is elsewhere in the county. We still take you, on the standard zone rate for that address (from $65) rather than the Turo rate.
The part travellers underestimate is the end of the trip: returning a Turo to a residential curb in Point Loma at 5 AM and then finding a ride the last mile to the terminal. That is what the Turo round trip is for.
The Turo rate applies to hosts on the Point Loma peninsula: Liberty Station, Point Loma, Loma Portal, Roseville-Fleetridge, Sunset Cliffs, Ocean Beach, Shelter Island, and Midway / Sports Arena. If your Turo host is somewhere else in the county, we will still take you — just on our standard published airport zone rates, which start at $65 in the BMW i7 for Zone 1. The $40 and $60 above are Turo-lane prices and are not the San Diego airport zone rate.
Honestly: when you should not book this
If you only need the arrival leg and you are travelling light, a single rideshare from the terminal will usually come in under the $40 Turo transfer, and MTS route 992 plus a short connection is cheaper again. We are not going to pretend otherwise.
Take the $40 Turo one way if that is all you need. The $60 Turo round trip earns its keep on the departure, and it earns it most for early flights, families with luggage and car seats, groups splitting one fare, and anyone who simply does not want to gamble on a ride out of a quiet neighbourhood with a plane to catch.
How it runs
- You send us the Turo details. Flight number, landing time, and the host's pickup address from your Turo app.
- Arrival. Flight-tracked in real time. Free meet-and-greet at SAN, 30 minutes of complimentary wait, then straight to the host's address.
- Departure. You tell us where and when the Turo goes back. We are there when you close the door on it, and you go to the terminal.
- Car seats are parent-supplied and parent-installed. Bring your own; your driver gives you the time to fit it properly.
The Point Loma peninsula is our densest operating area — it sits between the airport and the ocean, and it is where we already run most of our short-haul work. A 100% electric fleet (BMW i7, Rivian R1S, Cadillac Escalade IQ-L), a licensed TCP operator, $1.5M commercial insurance, and a driver named to you before your travel day rather than dispatched by an algorithm at the curb.

If the Turo you booked is one of the self-drive cars listed personally by EGT's founders, the airport connection is already included free with that booking and the Turo transfer rate does not apply. The Turo lane priced on this page is for guests renting from any other host.
