The direct answer by neighborhood — with the 2026 $10/hour game-day meter zone, garage fill behavior, and the post-game exit that turns a 20-minute drive home into an hour.

Weekday-evening estimates; I-5 South and the 94/163 approaches carry commute load before evening first pitches. Weekend afternoon games run lighter on the freeway but heavier in the ballpark district itself.
The meter zone. In September 2025 the City of San Diego quadrupled parking meter rates from $2.50 to $10 per hour in a 200-square-block special event zone within a half-mile of Petco Park — south of Broadway, west of Interstate 5, east of State Street, north of Harbor Drive and S. 16th Street. The zone runs from two hours before to four hours after first pitch, and meters now charge as late as 10 p.m. The era of free street parking after 6 p.m. on game nights is over. 2026 is the first full Padres season under these rates.
What an evening actually costs. Five to six hours at game-day meters runs $50–$60 — if you find a street spot. Official lots price by demand, and the closest garages fill well before first pitch on big series.
The exit. The drive home is the part nobody budgets: garage queues and ballpark-district congestion after the final out, then surge-priced rideshare for everyone who didn't park. Locking a staged return before the game removes both.

Your chauffeur arrives at your door — La Jolla, North County coastal, Chula Vista, anywhere in metro San Diego — timed so you're at the gates when you want to be. Curb drop at the ballpark, chauffeur staged downtown during play, and the return rolls the moment you walk out — or after you finish dinner in the Gaslamp while the garages empty.
Flat game-night round-trip rates (metro San Diego ↔ Petco Park, locked at booking):

Be in the ballpark district 60–90 minutes before first pitch. The closest garages fill well before first pitch on big series, and the $10/hour meter zone is already running by then — it activates two hours before first pitch. Add your neighborhood drive time from the table above.
Street meters in the 200-square-block special event zone charge $10 per hour during games — $50–$60 for a five-to-six hour evening. Official lots price by demand. Stretch-limo packages run $450–$480 for a capped 4-hour window (tip and fuel extra); EGT's flat $120/$200 round trips have no clock. For groups it usually wins: the Escalade IQ-L at $200 round-trip works out to $40 per seat for five people — door pickup, curb drop, staged return, no meter, no garage line, no post-game surge. The i7 at $120 is $60 per seat for two.
Your chauffeur is staged downtown and rolls when you walk out. If you'd rather let the garages empty, have dinner in the Gaslamp and we pick you up after — the rate doesn't change. It was locked at booking.
