Summer 2026 sell-out record — why booking early matters

Dated record of real EGT event dates that reached full commitment (updated July 23, 2026). EGT bookings are confirmed with named drivers — booked inventory does not free up.

• July 31 — Zach Bryan Night 1, Snapdragon Stadium: all three vehicles booked on July 23, eight days before the show — and with Grunge-A-Palooza at the Moonlight (closed July 4, ~27 days early) that makes July 31 a fully committed night across two venues.
• July 22 — Comic-Con Preview Night + Scapin (North Coast Rep): both reached full commitment the same Wednesday con week opened — scarcity reaching from the convention center to Solana Beach, with four con days and Del Mar still ahead on the same fleet.
• July 21 — two stadiums, one night: Ed Sheeran at Petco Park and ENHYPEN at Snapdragon Stadium both reached full commitment the evening before the shows — the first two-stadium full-close night on the log.
• June 12 — World Cup Opening Day, SoFi Stadium: sold out within five minutes of booking go-live — and every EGT World Cup match date after it closed too, a clean sweep through the July 10 quarterfinal.
• July 4 — Big Bay Boom fireworks: every vehicle committed by early afternoon on the day of the show.
• July 10 & 11 — Chris Stapleton, North Island Amphitheatre: both nights fully booked roughly a week to nine days out.
• July 17 — three full dates in one day: Del Mar Opening Day (closed six days before first post), Evanescence at North Island (closed the night before), and Distant Worlds at the Rady Shell.
• July 18–19 — Pride weekend: both days fully reserved more than a week out — the first city festival to close early rather than day-of.
• Aug 14 — Karol G Night 1, SoFi Stadium: closed five weeks before the show — the longest lead time on the log.

Know before you drive: San Diego event-traffic reality

Most frustration on event day comes from one thing: visitors don't know San Diego's chokepoints. The region's venues each funnel through a specific bottleneck, and out-of-town drivers routinely underestimate them. Here's the honest picture, venue by venue — so you can decide with your eyes open.

Coronado / Naval Base North Island (NASCAR)

The island is reached by one road — the Coronado Bridge (SR-75) — plus the bay ferry. On a normal day the bridge is a 10-15 minute hop from downtown; on a major event day, tens of thousands funnel through it and post-event egress can run an hour or more. This is the single worst event chokepoint in the county. The honest move is the bay ferry, which bypasses the bridge entirely — we drive you to the downtown pier and meet you on the return. (A visitor who drives the bridge on race day instead of taking the ferry is choosing the bottleneck; we'd rather you know that before you commit.)

Del Mar (racing & the Fair)

Race and Fair traffic stacks three flows into the same I-5 / Via de la Valle interchange: event-goers, summer beach traffic, and surface congestion on Camino del Mar. Plan to leave central San Diego well before first post or gates; the lots queue on both ends. Del Mar details →

Snapdragon Stadium (Mission Valley)

Loads through Mission Valley off I-8 and I-15 with Friars Road and trolley crossings; sellout soccer and Aztecs football nights back up the valley. The San Diego Trolley Green Line serves the stadium, but a flat-rate drop avoids the lot exit crush. Snapdragon details →

Pechanga Arena (Point Loma / Midway)

Just off I-8 at Sports Arena Boulevard near the I-5 interchange — quick to reach from most of the city, but the single-lot exit after a Gulls game or concert is the slow part. Pechanga access →

Downtown (Petco Park, Convention Center, Rady Shell)

The downtown grid handles Padres games, Comic-Con, and Rady Shell concerts — often overlapping. Parking is real money and the post-event walk plus rideshare surge is the friction. A gate drop-off and staged return skips both. Petco → · Convention Center →

SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles)

This is the big one out-of-towners misjudge: SoFi is in Inglewood, roughly 120 miles up I-5, and game-day or World Cup traffic can make it a two-to-three-hour-plus drive each way. We run it as a flat-rate trip with a driver who knows the timing windows. SD → SoFi details →

Torrey Pines (La Jolla golf)

Torrey Pines sits on the coastal bluff off N. Torrey Pines Road with very limited on-site parking — the Farmers Insurance Open runs a park-and-ride shuttle from the Del Mar Fairgrounds, and the tournament itself recommends rideshare.
